Innovation Fair -- What is the next greatest thing since sliced bread? If you think you have the answer, enter the Innovation Fair before June 30th. Winners will be displayed at the Home of Sliced Bread, 100 Elm Street, through Sliced Bread Day and awarded cash prizes. Click the link to the right for additional details.

French Toast Breakfast -- Start the day with the Greatest Breakfast Since Sliced Bread at the LICOVA Building, 909 Washington Street from 7-10:30 a.m. Free will donations appreciated with proceeds benefiting Livingston County Veterans Organizations.

Ready, Set, Bread 5k --Set the pace for your Sliced Bread Day celebration with a 5K Run/Walk hosted by the Grand River Family YMCA on Saturday, July 8th beginning and ending at Silver Moon Plaza on Webster Street in Downtown Chillicothe with check-in at 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. start. $15 for children ages 3-13 and $30 for ages 14 and over. Register by June 18 to be eligible for t-shirts and medals. Register with the link to the right.

Baby Baker Contest -- Do you have the cutest baby in town? Ages newborn to under age 4 as of July 8, 2023 are eligible to compete at Silver Moon Plaza and ride in the Sliced Bread Day Parade. Cash prizes available with an entry of fee of $5 in advance and $10 on site. Check back for registration soon.

 

Sliced Bread Prince & Princess -- Ages 4 to under 9 years old can compete in Silver Moon Plaza for crowns and cash and being able to ride in the Sliced Bread Day Parade. Entrance fee is required. Check back for registration soon. 

Sliced Bread Miss -- Ages 10 to those going into 8th grade can compete in Silver Moon Plaza for cash and to be crowned this year's Sliced Bread Miss. The winner will also be riding in the Sliced Bread Day Parade. The same entrance fee is required. Check back soon for registration. 

Sliced Bread Queen or King -- Entering freshman through graduating seniors can compete in Silver Moon Plaza to be the Sliced Bread Ambassador of the year, participate in the all-day festivities, ride in the Sliced Bread Day Parade, as well as receiving a $250 scholarship. No entrance fee is required, but those competing must complete an application and a 500-word essay the week prior. Check back for registration soon. 

The Greatest Parade Since Sliced Bread -- An old fashioned parade through downtown offers a family-friendly outing on Saturday, July 8th starting at 10 a.m. The route goes from the Home of Sliced Bread at 1st Street, north on Locust Street and ends at Silver Moon Plaza. We encourage parade entries of all kinds. Call 660-646-4071 for free parade entry.

Chill Zone -- Have fun and chill out in Silver Moon Plaza and hide from the summer heat.

Slice of History: Laura Ingalls Wilder -- Join the Livingston Country Library at 450 Locust Street at 10:30 a.m., right after the Sliced Bread Parade for a special program. Nancy Boswell will be here in full costume to discuss the life of historical figure Laura Ingalls Wilder as she details her move to Missouri and why she wrote the Little House on the Prairie series.

Bread Contest -- We are looking for the greatest bread baker in the Home of Sliced Bread. Enter your bread into one of the three categories for an opportunity to win cash prizes. Hosted by the Grand River Museum this contest is a favorite for entrants and spectators. Drop off bread at 1401 Forest Drive from 8-11 a.m. Visitors welcome all day at the museum and after 2 p.m. for contest sampling. For more information and to register, click the link to the right.

Sliced Bread Mercantile -- Shop for the greatest things at our Sliced Bread Mercantile, 1-6 p.m. at the Home of Sliced Bread, 100 Elm Street. Register your booth now by clicking the link to the right!

 

Slice of Home Concert -- The Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce welcomes a group of talented home-grown musicians for the greatest concert on Saturday, July 8th at 7 p.m. at Blackwater Restaurant. 

Other weekend events:

Farmer's Market -- Each and every Saturday from May to October, the Chillicothe Farmer's Market offers local, fresh, homemade, and homegrown delights. Located in the Courthouse Square from 8 a.m. to noon. Look for an expanded market and even more treats on Sliced Bread Day.

Make & take craft activities -- Held at the Lillian DesMarias Youth Library. More information coming soon.

Bread Olympics -- Test your skills all day long in Downtown Chillicothe! More information coming soon.

Mudcats games -- Come cheer on the Chillicothe Mudcats at Shaffer Park on July 7th at 5:00 p.m., July 8th at 7:00 p.m. for the Military All Star Game, and July 9th at 7:00 p.m. for the Mink League All Star Game!

Truck and Tractor Pull -- Join Livingston County 4-H and FFA Fair at the Livingston County Fairgrounds off of Hwy 190 for the Truck and Tractor Pull on July 7, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $20 and kids 10 and under get in free.
